I'm in the planning stage of the Homemade Speed 'Cook Book'. These images are part of the brainstorming for the back cover of the steel ring-bound booklets. The idea is that the cook book would be a constantly expanding and evolving 'look book' that also includes disposable photos, studio shots, a resume, print reproductions in themed sections and bound by half inch binder rings. The contents will be mostly xeroxed and the double sided front and back covers will be 3 color offset printed. Kinda like a sprial bound version of my tumblr; an attempt at pulling the many random things I do into one portable, organized object, to be distributed to interested stylists, boutiques, and customers as a promotional tool and sick freebie. At least I hope that's how it turns out!
Speaking of zines, here's a preview of my bone cleaning + paw curing tutorial in the second issue of californian chill dawg Chris' zine, GUNK. (above) Chris is a photographer who makes zines and jewelry and stuff under the name Nearly Civilized. Pictured Below: A few months ago bay area baby Olivia asked me to draw up a coloring page for the second issue of her zine, SPEW, which she describes as "...a collective zine from oakland, california. It’s an honest attempt at the classic cut and paste zine collage style, with raw stories and photos and poetry “spewed” amongst it’s pages". I didn't get to add a background to the barfy punk illustration but it ended up being used as the issue's cover.
